What is Disk Atlas?

Disk Atlas is a macOS app that creates searchable catalogs of your disks, folders, external drives and archives.

Does Disk Atlas copy my files?

No. Disk Atlas is designed to catalog file and folder information. It does not replace a backup system and does not need to copy your original files.

Can I search a disk when it is disconnected?

Yes. The purpose of a disk catalog is to let you search what was scanned before, even when the original disk is not currently connected.

Is Disk Atlas a backup app?

No. Disk Atlas helps you understand and search your storage. It is not a backup system. You should still keep proper backups of important files.

What is the difference between Fast Scan and Deep Scan?

Fast Scan is designed for quick cataloging. Deep Scan is designed for a more complete analysis when you need more detail.

Does Disk Atlas detect duplicates?

Yes, Disk Atlas includes duplicate detection features for users who need to identify repeated files and reduce archive confusion.

Does the app upload my files?

No. Disk Atlas is designed as a local-first utility. Your disk catalog is created for your own organization workflow.

How much does Disk Atlas cost?

Disk Atlas offers two Apple In-App Purchase options: - Lifetime Access: $29.99, one payment, yours forever. - Monthly Access: $2.99/month, for short projects or temporary archive work.

How are payments handled?

Payments are handled securely by Apple through the Mac App Store. Disk Atlas does not use external payment systems.

Can I restore my purchase?

Yes. The app includes a Restore Purchases option.

Is Lifetime Access a subscription?

No. Lifetime Access is a one-time non-consumable purchase.

Can I cancel the monthly subscription?

Yes. Monthly subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID settings.
